Md Abdul Hunnain, a resident of Hyderabad, has approached the State Human Rights Commission with a complaint against his girlfriend's father.

As per Hunnain, he had fallen in love with a Muslim woman and sought her parents' approval for marriage. The woman's father insisted that he should convert to Islam if he wants to marry his daughter. He did, only to see the woman's father do a U-Turn.

"I had converted to Islam from Christianity to marry a Muslim woman. I have approached the Human Rights Commission because her family has denied me permission to marry the person I like. I converted only because her father asked me to. But now he refuses to accept me," Hunnain told a news agency.

Complaints of this sort are usually mediated and settled out of court.
