A man frequently seen near Taylor Swift’s Manhattan residence was arrested close to her home due to open warrants, confirming his intention to see the pop star, according to a law enforcement source.
Around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to calls from Swift’s neighbors in Tribeca about a disorderly man lingering outside her building and refusing to leave. The man was attempting to open a door, as reported by the New York Police Department spokesperson. When police arrived, he confessed to being there to see Swift. CNN has sought comment from Taylor Swift's representatives.
Upon further investigation, the police discovered an active warrant and apprehended him on Saturday. The NYPD spokesperson stated that he was arrested for two open warrants from 2017 related to failure to appear.
Notably, the man hasn't been charged with any offenses related to attempting to enter Swift’s townhouse. There is no evidence suggesting he was trying to access her specific unit, according to the law enforcement source.
The Manhattan district attorney’s office claimed no record of the arrest and couldn't confirm additional details.
