Mamta wins, by singing

Mamta Mohandas has become the surprise winner of the Filmfare award, this year. She was selected as the best female play back singer in Telugu for the film Rakhi, set to music by Devi Sri Prasad.

Expressing her happiness, she said at the function, “I thank Devi Sri Prasad in this regard. I am very happy for bagging a Filmfare award in Telugu, which was also my debut film. My special thanks to the audiences, who were encouraging me and made the song a big success”.

The actress who is having a lean time in Malayalam has made it clear that she is just as serious about her acting career too. Just to prove the point, she has accepted a new film as heroine against a young Telugu hero.

But it seems quite surprising why she is not offered more roles in Malayalam, as she seems to be one of the biggest favorites among youth and is the actress with maximum number of advertising assignments in Kerala.
