On the auspicious day of Chingam 1 (Kerala New Year) today, the much-awaited Mammootty and Parvathy Thiruvothu starrer upcoming film ‘Puzhu’ went on floors. With a customary pooja, the team kickstarted the project. Mammootty graced the pooja ceremony in a never seen before stylish avatar. Wearing a colorful printed shirt, beige pants, and glasses complemented by long flowing hair, Mammootty looked super stylish in the pictures, which created a rage on social media.

Helmed by debutant director Ratheena, Puzhu marks the first association of Mammootty and Parvathy Thiruvoth. Ratheena was an executive producer on the film Uyare, in which Parvathy played the lead role of an acid attack survivor.

Cinematographer Theni Eswar, music composer Jakes Bejoy (Ranam), and editor Deepu Joseph (Jallikattu) are a part of the project. Manu Jagadh is the art director, and Sameera Saneesh is the costume designer. 'Puzhu’ is backed by S George and Dulquer Salmaan’s production house Wayfarer Films.
