Megastar Mammootty took to his social media handle to laud the rescuers who were selflessly involved in the rescue operations in Karipur flight crash and Pettimudy landslide amid heavy rains and COVID-19 scare.

“We already saw humanity in Kerala when floods ravaged the state. Now, while a landslide wrecked Pettimudy and a flight crashed in Karipur, we witnessed the power of human love and sacrifice,” wrote the actor. He also wrote that only love will help us to lead from darkness to light.

“The world is going through a painful phase that none of us are familiar with or have ever experienced before. The entire human race is helpless and shell-shocked. As far as Kerala is concerned, the challenges are tougher. Floods, landslides, airplane crash – tragedies like these have been shocking us deeply. However, what is consoling is that the light of hope is still not extinguished. We have seen that during the floods through shining examples of mankind’s love and sacrifice for each other. We have seen the brave and selfless acts of people that reinforce that they will be there for each other through any peril. During the landslides in Pettimudi and the plane crash in Karipur, what burned bright was the people’s love. During these dark times, only that love can lead us to light. Let’s stay strong together. Let's stand up as the lamps glowing of love and kindness,” Mammootty wrote.
