Mammootty to be felicitated by Kerala Government

It was recently Mollywood Megastar Mammootty completed 50 years in the film industry. To honor the veteran actor for his milestone journey, Kerala Minister Saji Cherian, the State Minister for Kerala State Film Development Corporation and Chalachithra Academy, said that the state government would felicitate the actor in a special event. The date and venue of the event are yet to be finalized.
Mammootty started his cinema career as a junior artist. His first film ‘Anubhavangal Paalichakal’, in which he played a junior artist’s role, got released on this day August 6 in 1971. Mammootty made his entry as a lead actor in Vilkanundu Swapnangal which was released in 1980.
He went on to act in over 400 films across Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and English languages. Mammootty is a Padma Shri award winner and has also won 3 National Film Awards for Best Actor, 7 Kerala State Film Awards, and 13 Filmfare Awards.
