Mammootty has agreed to play the lead in the next film by M.Padmakumar.

The megastar, who watched the recent films of Padmakumar was very well impressed by the young director's work and has invited him to make a film with him. He also proposed the scriptwriter T.A.Rasaaq for the film.

The director and scripter who sat for the one line has finally devised a character, who is also an auto driver by profession. Mamootty, who heard the story liked the character and has decided to start the film in immediate future.

Padmakumar received much critical acclaim for his recent film Vaasthavam which told a realistic story in the background of secretariat and its beaurocracy. The film which was also well received by the masses turned out to become an average earner. The earlier two films of Padmakumar like Ammakilikoodu and Vargam were also critically appreciated.

Padmakumar will complete his fourth film with Prithviraj before starting the shooting of his project with Mammootty
