Last year, it was rumoured that Malayalam superstar Mammotty will be playing a key role in 'Agent', starring Akhil Akkineni as the hero. The news is that director Surender Reddy and producer Anil Sunkara have cast the versatile actor in a powerful role.

The high-budget stylish action thriller features debutante Sakshi Vaidya as the heroine. Written by Vakkantham Vamsi, the spy thriller has got Mammootty in a full-fledged role. "A Stalwart of Indian Cinema who paved his own path with Discipline & Dedication (sic)," the producers said, releasing a poster featuring the actor.

The makers revealed that the Mollywood actor has started filming for his portions in the new schedule. Going by the description 'The Devil: Ruthless Saviour', it seems Mammootty has got a positive action-driven role.

With music by Hip Hop Thamizha, 'Agent' has cinematography by Ragul Herian Dharuman. Naveen Nooli and Avinash Kolla are its editor and art director, respectively. Stun Shiva is the film's action director. 'Agent' will hit the screens in the second half of this year.

Mammootty's most recent Malayalam film is 'Bheeshma Parvam', which hit the screens on March 3. The action thriller has been declared a hit.
