Megastar Mammootty will be playing the lead role in the directorial debut of veteran cinematographer Shamdat, who has worked in movies such as Kamal Haasan's Viswaroopam 2, Uttama Villain, Oozham and upcoming Fahadh Faasil movie Role Models.

As per the latest update, the upcoming crime thriller has been titled 'Streetlights', which revolves around a murder mystery. In the movie, Mammootty will essay the role of an investigative police officer.

The movie will also have Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan fame Vishnu Unnikrishnan and Lijo Mol in pivotal roles. To be shot in Kochi, Chennai and Pollachi, the movie will start rolling on March 24th.
