'Screenplays are an emerging literary genre in Kerala as we have taken to the habit of reading them in a regular manner. Almost all movie scripts are now published in the form of books'' noted, the Malayalam superstar Mammootty.

He was attending the three day long Hay festival organised in the capital city. Though I don't script for my films, I would like more of an interaction between Malayalam scriptwriters and those from Western countries.

“Actually, I don't have time to write scripts - but I want the organisers of Hay Festival to bring more good scriptwriters next year'' demanded Mamootty whose three screenplays are available in the market including 'Kazhchappadu’.

All the critically acclaimed scripts of the Mammootty films are published in book form in Malayalam, soon after the end of actual theatrical run of the movies.

The script of his last year's hit 'Pazzhasi Raja'' was turned in to a book and director Renjith is getting ready to present his 'Pranchiyeetan'' in print for the public.
