Actor Mammootty has indeed started off the year 2022 with the massive success of the film ‘Bheeshma Parvam’ and also the actor has a list of highly ambitious projects, which are reportedly scheduled to release this year. His upcoming movies include ‘Puzhu’, ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’, the fifth installment of the CBI series titled ‘CBI 5: The Brain' and the Telugu movie Agent. Reports were abuzz that the makers of Puzhu would skip the theatrical release and will premiere directly on SonyLIV.

On Friday, Mammootty himself announced the same by sharing a brand new poster of the movie on his Facebook handle. However, the streaming date of Puzhu is yet to be confirmed. Puzhu, the upcoming Malayalam crime thriller will feature Mammootty and Parvathy in the lead roles. Directed by debutant Ratheena PT, the film is produced by Mammootty's son and actor Dulquer Salmaan under his banner along with S George’s Cyn Cyl Celluloid.

Meanwhile, Dulquer Salmaan's another production venture Salute directed by Rosshan Andrrews released directly on OTT platform on March 18. This will be the first time, the father-son duo launching their films on the same OTT platform. Salute will see Dulquer step into the shoes of a cop, Aravind Karunkaran. The movie revolves around the conflicted choices that Salmaan’s Karunkaran character must make between his family and profession, right and wrong. The movie will also be the Malayalam debut of Bollywood actress Diana Penty and will also star Manoj K Jayan in a pivotal role.
