After Megastar Mammotty tested positive for COVID-19 from the sets of his much-awaited movie 'CBI5', the movie's shoot was temporarily canceled. A week ago, the movie's director K Madhu posted a picture with actor Mammootty and the ‘CBI- 5’ team and left the fans wondering whether the actor is back to the shoot. Sharing the picture Madhu wrote, “Sharing good vibes. Team CBI on the sets.” However, it was not officially confirmed if the actor had resumed the project. Now, a few pictures of the actor rejoining the sets of CBI 5 have surfaced online and fans can't stop gaga over them. Take a look -
The movie's script is penned by SN Swamy who had revealed that the ‘CBI’ film will revolve around ‘basket killing’. The first CBI film, 'Oru CBI Diary Kurippu', was released in 1988 and it was immediately followed by a sequel, 'Jagratha', in 1989. Mammootty's lead character Sethurama Iyer, a brilliant investigative officer, is one of his career-best characters. As both the movies were super hits, the makers, after a gap of 15 years, did the third part of the movie, 'Sethurama Iyer CBI' in 2004, and a fourth part, 'Nerariyan CBI', in 2005. However, the third and fourth were an average hit at the box-office.
All the four films were helmed by K Madhu and scripted by SN Swamy. The franchise also stars Mukesh, Renji Panicker, Soubin Shahir, Asha Sharath, Sai Kumar, and many others. It is said that the movie will have new-age elements in it, however, Mammootty's character styling, mannerism, etc. will remain the same. The character DYSP Vikram played by Jagathy Sreekumar too will be appearing in the upcoming film. Recently, the team had roped in Kaniha to play an important role in the movie. On the technical front, Jakez Bejoy has been assigned as the music director and Akhil George is the DOP.
