Earlier, there were unconfirmed reports that Mammootty's Puthan Panam directed by Ranjith will hit the bigscreens during the Vishu season in April. Now, the latest that we hear is the movie will be released on May 11th. However, an official confirmation on the release date is awaited!

The movie has Mammootty playing the character of Nithyananda Shenoy, a middle-aged businessman from Kasargode. More details on his character are still kept under the wraps. However, his new look for the movie is ravishing. Going by the title, the movie revolves around black money and India`s financial issues. Puthan Panam also stars Mamukoya, Siddique, Saikumar, Sheelu Abraham, Iniya, etc., in the other pivotal roles.

Scripted by Ranjith himself, Puthan Panam`s cinematography will be handled by Kollywood`s most celebrated cinematographer Om Prakash. Produced by 3 Colour Cinemas, Puthan Panam was shot at various locations of Kochi, Kasargode, and Goa.

As the subject of the movie gels very much with the current scenario of India, expectations are riding high on the project. Also, the movie brings back one of the most celebrated actor-director duos after a break.
