The grapewine were in the media circuits for long about Mammootty joining politics. The news has been doing round that the CPI (M) would let the actor represent one of the three Rajya Sabha seats from Kerala.

However, the megastar says that at this point of his career heights, he is not interested to join politics. Moreover, the party has not even approached him on the subject. Mammootty has not made it clear about what his decision will be if the party advises him to hold on to a seat on Rajya Sabha.

Meanwhile, the actor is going great as far as films are concerned.

Kamal has been given another set of dates for his next flick while he also will join hands with Hariharan and M.T. in a film titled 'Payyamvelli Chandu'.

The shooting of the film will start once the actor completes his other film 'Mayavi', directed by Shafi Mecartin. The other important projects in the pipe line includes those with Faazil, Lohithadas, Joshy and Johny Antony.
