On Sunday, Megastar Mammootty's ardent fan Subran breathed his last. Subran who used to frequently visit the superstar at movie locations shared a close bond with Mammootty. Taking to his social media handle, Mammootty penned an emotional post on the demise of his ardent fan. ‘Subran, whom I had known for years, has left. The demise of Subran, who changed his name to Mammootty Subran because of his love towards me, is painful, tributes', wrote actor Mammootty sharing alongside a throwback picture with Subran.
Subran who is fondly known as Mammootty Subran, among the locals, lived under a banyan tree at the junction near the Sri Sankarankulangara temple in Thrissur. He had now family. Under the banyan tree, he used to keep a photo of his beloved actor beside the image of the gods and lit a lamp in front of them. He also had a dream of making a movie with Mammootty, and for this, he used to regularly buy lottery tickets. On Saturday, he developed breathing difficulties at around 9 pm. The locals rushed him to the Thrissur General Hospital but was declared dead. Upon hearing the news of his demise, Mammootty contacted the councillor of Thrissur Corporation V. Athira on Sunday and enquired about his dear fan. The actor also recollected his memories with Subran, who never used to misuse the friends for his personal benefit.
