The much-awaited teaser of Mammootty's upcoming movie Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery has been released online. Staying true to its title, meaning a nap in the mid-afternoon, the teaser gives a glimpse of a sleepy village with several visuals of people enjoying a nap. Not just people, even animals dose off in that village. Only towards the end of the video, we get to see a glimpse of Mammootty's character that is hardly recognizable. The teaser has Mammootty in a lower-middle class villager avatar napping in the verandah of a house. Unveiling the teaser, Mammootty's son and actor Dulquer Salman tweeted, “The story of sleep!! Here’s presenting to you the quirky teaser of Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam produced by Mammootty Kampany and directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery." It is interesting to note that the director chose to drop the teaser on 'World Sleep Day'. Scroll down to watch the intriguing teaser.

'Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ is Mammootty's first movie with director Pellissery and has Ramya Pandian and Ashokan in important roles. The entire movie was shot in Tamil Nadu, and will be released both in Malayalam and Tamil languages. Written by S. Hareesh, who also wrote the director's previous outings, Churuli and Jallikattu, the movie is produced by Mammootty under his newly launched production house Mammootty Kampany. Theni Eswar, who shot Peranbu and the upcoming Mammootty-Parvathy Thiruvoth-starrer Puzhu, is behind the camera.
