Megastar Mammootty is one screen actor who gained much in being with the famous characters of Late littérateur Vaikkam Muhammed Basheer. When he first donned his character in Adoor’s ‘Mathilukal’, Mammootty was able to fetch a lot of International and National accolades including the much coveted National award for the best actor. He is now getting ready to don a sequel to the famous movie in the title ‘Mathilukalkkappuram’ which will have Asin as the heroine.

Apart from this project Mammootty will once again don a Basheer character for the new movie titled and based on famous story ‘Shabdangal’. Famous art house director Priyanandhanan will call the shots for this movie which will be scripted by the director in association with Sashidharan who penned the national award winner ‘Pulijanmam’.
