Mammootty did not quit from Karnnan!

There were reports that Mammootty withdrew from the Multi-crore project Karnnan directed by Madhupal and screenplay written by Actor/Director Sreekumar.The scriptwriter has slammed the rumor as baseless and said that the pre-production works are going on. He also said that the film would start rolling soon.

Earlier there were reports that Karnnan` is shelved because Mammootty withdrew from it to avoid clash with the Prithviraj starrer of the same name based on the epic character from Mahabharata.

Prithviraj starrer is directed by R. S. Vimal of Ennu Ninte Moideen` fame. The budget of this film comes around 300 crore.
