Mammootty is shooting day and night these days for Shafi's Mayavi. His last film with Shafi was Thommanum Makkalum and the actor is working with Rafi Mecartin's script for the first time. The shooting of the film began on 10 November in Kochi.

After completing Palunku for Blessy, Mammootty joined the sets of Mayavi.

Mayavi fights against injustice wherever he sees it, but never takes credit for all the superhuman efforts he makes.

Gopika plays heroine in the film. The film also has Sai Kumar, Manoj K Jayan, Vijaya Raghavan, Anand, Jagathy and Keerikadan Jose.

Songs are penned by Vayalar Sharatchandra Varma and music by Alex Paul. Sanjeev Shankar wields camera for the film.
