Mammootty is known for his histrionics all over the country. He has left an indelible impression with his performance in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam film industry.

But the actor is now facing a new challenge. In his forthcoming film for debutant K K Rajeev, he plays the role of a drama actor who hardly knows what acting is all about.

Rajeev said it would be a great task for him to make an actor like Mammootty as an actor who doesn't know how to act. Interestingly, a host of stage artistes would be part of the movie that would go to floors this December. Noushad and Sevy Manomathew would produce the film.

Mammootty has his hands full with almost half-a-dozen offers with his next Karutha Pakshigal ready for release. It stars Mammootty in the role of an ironman Murugan, hailing from Tamil Nadu and settled in Kerala.
