At the recent International MAMI film festival organized by Mumbai Academy of Music Images the Kannada film 'Naayi Neralu' of Basanth Productions has secured two awards for best cinema and best director category. Basanthkumar Patil and Girish Kasaravalli get these awards respectively.

Dr.Girish Karnad was the jury member of this festival. This is the fourth international award for 'Nayi Neralu' that is based on the novel written by Dr.S.L.Byrappa.

At Karachi, Osian film festival 'NN' bagged an award each. It has recently taken part in Palm String festival at USA and at Rotterdam in Denmark. In the coming months at Singapore, Spain, Hungary, New York, Australia, Austria and South America film festivals Girish Kasaravalli's film 'Naayi Neralu' is taking part.
