Mamata Banerjee has invoked Hindu Gods to divide Hindus: Critics

Ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections, Mamata Banerjee is going ballistic with her criticism of the BJP. The Chief Minister and TMC supremo, in her enthusiasm to wean away Hindu votes from the saffron party, has tried to project Lord Ram as having lesser stature than Goddess Durga in the pantheon of Gods of Hinduism. Critics have accused her of trying to divide the majority community in the name of Hindu Gods.
Addressing a rally, Mamata told voters not to vote for BJP, saying that people won't be able to follow their dharma if the saffron party is voted to power in the State.
She then claimed that people will be made to say 'Jai Shree Ram' instead of 'Jai Siya Ram' if BJP wrests power. The CM then said that Lord Ram used to worship Durga because she is much bigger in stature.
