The new movie `Mallanna' is all set to hit the screens and this one has Vikram as the hero while the sizzling beauty Shriya is the heroine. The music for this has been composed by the talented Devisri Prasad and the lyrics for the songs have been penned by Sahithi. The audio has been released so let us see how it has been.

Excuse me.

An energetic number which is a mix of a western and folk beats by Devisri, the voices have been rendered by Vikram, Suchitra Karthik Kumar and the lyrics have been penned by Sahithi. There is also a mix of melody in this and Suchitra has dominated the vocals with her husky voice and Vikram with his accent synced well with the tune. Sahithi has given simple easy to understand lyrics without any complications.

Mambo Mamiya.

An upbeat dance number, the song takes off with a Jamaican drum beat backdrop and a chorus. Vikram has rendered some real good vocals similar to a professional singer and joining him was Rita who had a teasing voice. Devisri has given a reggae kind of tune to this with a European touch and Sahithi has penned a easy understanding of love and its confusions. This is a fast paced number that can be enjoyed and hummed.

Ivannee dupe.

Vikram seems to have worked hard for this song since it takes off with a list of items that he renders without taking a breath. Later on, Devisri Prasad joins the song with his vocals and an electric guitar and yet again, a long list of words come from the lyricist Sahithi. A very different song with exclusive meaning for each word Devisri has shown his prowess in music while Vikram showed his vocal prowess. A very interesting number.

Mallannaa..

This is the highlight song and also the title song of the album and Devisri Prasad has not only composed a tune of folk beats with chorus but he has also offered his voice for the song. This is also a rap number and reminds us of the song `Peta Rap.' from `Premikudu'. Sahithi has given a touch of philosophy and projects the hero in a very grand manner. Overall, a passable song.

Allegra..

A song that takes off on an opera mode, this has been sung by Rita and it is an upbeat dance number. Rita sings in a rather anglicized tone and there is good support from Devisri in the form of keyboards, trumpets and trombones. The start reminds of the song `whenever, wherever.' by Shakira. Sahithi has given a trendy stitching of words to this number and though it is a foreign word, it sets the right mood for the audience.

Meow Meow..

A typical folk number which has a very interesting beat, the song has been sung by Vikram, Priya Hemesh and both have taken part with enthusiasm in this duet. This is more of a seductive number with sensuous lyrics written by Sahithi. As the title indicates, the song revolves around Cat and Devisri from his end gave a good mix of folk beat along with guitars. The keyboards and bass guitar also made their presence felt. This is a music dominated number.

Mallanna (Devisri mix).

Devisri Prasad has given his signature song just like every other noted album of his and he has given the full vocals. This is more of a mix number and he has been assisted by Sagar at few places. Devisri has given some exceptional music and Sahithi gives a devotional touch to the lyrics and then gets it to the Robinhood kind of feel. The song goes on a rap mode and this is more of a background song.

Naa Peru Meenakumari.

This is more of a remix number at the start and later on, gets into the rhythmic beat of Devisri Prasad. A library line from the original sung by Ghantasala is used in this one and then it is Malathy who gives the lead vocals supported by the chorus. There is also a rap track in this and this has been written and sung by K I. This is more of a voice dominated number with a techno beat and overall, this is an apt beat number for pubs.

The album is full of energy and melodious music and given the presence of Devisri Prasad, there is a strong presence of dance numbers in this too. He has mixed his beats very well and the lyrics though not very poetic will appeal to the youth audience. The only lacking in the album is the presence of a slow number or a romantic melody that would have calmed the moods a bit after so much of high voltage beats and peppy tracks. However, the music is sure to appeal to many and Devisri has proved once again as to why he is the best. Another surprise is the competitive voice from Vikram who has shown tremendous potential as a singer. This is worth buying!!!
