Title - Male Nilluvavarege, Producer - S Mohan, Director - Mohan, Music - Layendra, Camera - Prasad Babu, Cast - Mohan, Kavitha Bora, Bhumika, Soujanya, Dattanna, Kari Subbu, Sharat Lohitashva, Srinivasa Prabhu, Chatu Suresh and others.
Mohan is magnificent in this ‘Male Nilluvavarege’. Like how a plantain leave spread and different spicy food is served, he makes it both spicy and juicy to the viewers. The screenplay that has good mixture of ‘Chow Chow Bath’ (Khara Bath and Kesari Bath), Mohan never lets the attention of audience to drop. He does not give chance for a break. That is his breakthrough from this film. The audiences have to be attentive and even they have to switch off mobile phones to watch this film. That is the strength of this film - romance and crime is well measured. The crime and punishment angle is worth watching.
How the crime committed by protagonist Mohan slowly unveil in the presence of a retired judge, public prosecutor, defense lawyer, a hangman and a servant in the house that is situated in the dense forest area is high point of the film. The cunning and clever Mohan after a few pegs on a rainy night declare that he has not committed mistake in his life. That makes the foursome in the house to tackle slowly. Mohan explains how he became a rich businessman. The heart patient boss in his office succumb death. How it happened is also revealed by Mohan. That is the last point to knock him down. Why the foursome in the house on a rainy night trapped Mohan is also interesting factor that is inspired from ‘Deadly Game’ of 1950 stage play.
Mohan is perfect in his work this time. His punches, comedy sense, seriousness are in high order. Dattanna, Sharat Lohitashva, Srinivasa Prabhu, Kari Subbu - foursome in the house rendered superb support. Kavitha Bora skin show, Soujanya and Bhumika seductive moments are additional points to lift the film. Mohan is liberal in romance but not crosses limit. The special effects of this film are horrifying. The rain effect used for the film is also plus point of the film. Two songs in the film are OK. Cinematography by Prasad Babu is glorious. It is a Paisa Vasool cinema.
Score - 8/10
