Ever since superstar Rajinikanth stepped into Malaysia for the shooting of his upcoming film 'Kabali' he is being surrounded by affectionate fans that include not just the Tamils living in Malaysia but also the Malaysian Government staff and airport authorities. Malaysia is said to be a huge market for Tamil films and Superstar has a huge fan base in the country.

A couple of days back we had reported that Mohammed Khalil bin Yaakob. , the Governor of the Malacca Province in Malaysia hosted lunch for Rajinikanth. The Governor is also the fan of Rajinikanth and now unconfirmed report state that he may take steps to confer the Datuk (also called as Dato) title for the much loved Superstar during his stay in Malaysia.

Datuk is the prestigious title given by the Malaysian Government for individuals to honour their contributions to any industry they work for Veteran Tamil actor Radharavi received this award in the year 2012. International superstar Jackie Chan and Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan are the other celebrities who have received the Datukship.

We will have to wait and watch whether the Superstar Rajinikanth will return from Malaysia as Datuk Rajinikanth.
