Within a week after the death of director Rajesh Pillai, the film fraternity is in for another rude shock with another untimely and shocking demise.. Popular Malayalam and Tamil Actor Kalabhavan Mani has passed away moments ago in a private hospital in Kochi, where he was admitted for a liver related disease and was undergoing treatment for the past couple of days.
Kalabhavan Mani was just 45 when he breathed his last and is survived by wife Doctor Nimmi and a daughter.
He started his film career in Malayalam films and has been acting in Malayalam and Tamil films for the past 25 years. He has acted in over 200 films and has won a National award for his portrayal of a blind singer in the film 'Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinna Gnanum'. This was remade in Tamil as 'Kasi' with actor Vikram reprising Mani's role. Later Mani acted as the villain in Vikram's super hit film 'Gemini' and got his break in Tamil film industry with that film, though he has acted in a few Tamil films before.

He has acted with many of the top heroes and directors in Malayalam as well as Tamil. Tamil movie buffs saw him for the last time, playing a cunning police officer in last year's Kamal Haasan starrer blockbuster 'Papanasam'.
Apart from acting, Mani has won the people's heart with his play-back singing and mimicry skills
