Malavika Mohanan, the multi-lingual actress, has been dragged into an avoidable controversy by Netizens. The actress, familiar to the Telugu audience because of Rajinikanth's 'Petta' and Thalapathy Vijay's 'Master', recently opined that prefixing the word 'Lady' with the term 'superstar' is gendered and must be avoided. A section of Nayanthara's fans misunderstood her comments, believing it was a not-so-sly dig at the Lady Superstar herself.
Trying to put a full stop to the whole controversy, Malavika today clarified that her comment was about a term that is used to describe female actors exclusively and that it was not about any specific female actor. "I really respect and admire Nayanthara and, as a senior, I really look up to her incredible journey. Can people please calm down, especially the tabloid journalists," she wrote on Instagram.
Malavika will next be seen in Vikram's 'Thangalaan', a pan-India movie to be released later this year. The talented actress will be seen in one of the meatiest roles of her career in the film. "And so we begin! So excited to work with this insanely talented team playing a role so different from anything I have ever done before," she wrote on Instagram a few months ago.
