Noted actress of Kannada cinema Malavika Avinash, husband of agile actor Avinash – both are well known in Tamil Nadu (Malavika for her Television serials and Avinash for doing a few Tamil films) is hoping to get a direct entry to Karnataka State Vidhana Soudha. Malavika was invited to join AIADMK by former Tamil Nadu chief minister Dr J Jayalalithaa. She politely rejected the offer.

Malavika Avinash political party is BJP. She is very active in women wing of State BJP. She is doing tweet hit backs sometime, showing her concern on deep rooted issues.

After a long stay in BJP, Malavika Avinash intends to contest from Krishnaraja assembly constituency. She has set up a house also in Mysuru. The names of seniors SA Ramdas, HV Rajiv, Phanish, Shivaprakash, Srivatsa are doing rounds for the same constituency.

From 1994 Ramdas is representing this Krishnaraja constituency. He has won three times and lost two times. For this 2018 Assembly election the image of Ramdas former minister in Yediyurappa and Sadananda Gowda government of BJP is not that good. He was accused of exploitation by Mohana Kumari and later he tried to commit suicide.
