Out of three films slated for release on Friday morning – 6th of January 2012 the biggest film is 'Shakthi' of Malashri action feast, a film with purpose to save the Kannada language and Kannada school 'Prarthane' by Sadashiva Shenoy and third ordinary film is ‘Rana Pratapa’ that was not in the news after the muhurut in May 2011.

Action heroine once a dream girl of Kannada cinema Malashri is no doubt the crowd puller. 'Shakthi' by debutant director Anil Kumar who is powerful in writing dialogues is hitting the silver screen in over 100 theatres all over Karnataka. After 'Durgi' Malashri is back in this high voltage action cinema. She has five power action portions handled by five highly reputed stunt directors – Thriller Manju, Ram Lakshman, Ravi Verma, Different Danny and Palaniraj. This is one of the biggest action cinema of the recent times.

Actress Malashri has struggled very hard to give a bumper hit to her producer husband Ramu of Ramu International. Malashri has taken the pain of dubbing also for the first time in this film. Vardhan is the music director, Lakshman Reddy is the editor, Rajesh is the cameraman.

Avinash, Ravishanker, Sayyyaji Rao Shindhe, Hema Chaudhary, Sharat Lohitashva, Vinayaprasad, Kurigalu Pratap are in the cast.

Senior journalist of Lankesh Patrike tabloid K Sadashiva Shenoy has made a thought provoking subject in his debut direction 'Prarthane' that boasts of two vibrant actors Ananthnag and Prakash Raj.

Prarthana has JM Prahallad story, Veer Samarth music and late S Ramachandra cinematography. Pavithra Lokesh, Ashok, BC Patil, Master Manoj, Master Sachin and most importantly the film has Smt Sudha Murthy Infosys founder in the guest appearance.

'Rana Pratap' 37th directorial venture of GK Mudduraj is nothing but good verses bad. As a cop Thriller Manju uses more brain to put down the trouble shooters. Dhanush is the cameraman, Parthasarathy is the director of this film and Raghunath Sarathinath and Mohan are the producers of this film.
