Four Tamil films of four genres to release on January 1, 2016

Tamil films releasing on English New years day is a rarity. But the dawn of the year 2016 is expected to see four direct Tamil films releasing on the day as it falls on a Friday.
Geethanjali Selvaraghavan's debut directorial 'Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam' is expected to release on New year. 'Azhagu Kutty Chellam' produced by Antony of 'Neeya Naana' fame has been officially announced as a 2016 New year day release. Makers of 'Peigal Jakkiradhai', a horror comedy film with 'Naan Kadavul' Rajendran and Thambi Ramiyah in important roles have announced the release date as January 1 2016, in the posters released today. 'Karaiyoram' a horror flick starring Simran in an important role has also booked its seat in the January 1st box office battle.
In the coming days few more films may be added and some of the films may back out due to nonavailability of screens. We will keep you posted the changes in release schedules as and when we receive them. Stay tuned in this space.
