'Veera Simha Reddy' and 'Waltair Veerayya' are scheduled to hit the screens for Sankranthi. Year 2023 is expected to have a smashing beginning, thanks to the movies done by Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi. Both are mass films produced by the same production house: Mythri Movie Makers. 'VSR' will release on January 12, followed by Chiranjeevi's movie a day later.
Both have more than Rs 300 Cr riding on them even though they are not pan-India movies.
The same banner releasing two of its most prestigious projects in the space of two days is happening for the first time ever in Indian cinema. The profit margins of the two films are surely going to get affected without a doubt. The family audience will watch the better one of the two. So, the competition is going to be cut-throat.
Why did Mythri have to take the audacious decision? Is it because its directors insisted on it?
There is a talk that the producers are sorted despite the apparent threat that the two films pose to each other. Since Mythri is an influential banner, they have got a strong bargaining power with heroes. If any of the films doesn't realize its fullest potential at the box-office, the remuneration of the hero will be adjusted accordingly. That way, the producers are planning to maximize their gains.
The producers are also said to have eked out the best possible release strategy (in terms of the number of theatres, etc), etc.
