Recently, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal launched the title of Priyadarshan's upcoming Tamil directorial Nimir starring Udhayanidhi Stalin. Now, the first look poster of Nimir, the Tamil remake of Malayalam superhit Maheshnite Prathikaram has been released on social media by Tamil top star Suriya Sivakumar. "Glad to release the Firstlook of #Nimir directed by @priyadarshandir for whom I have a lot of respect. All the best.. @Udhaystalin Bossu," tweeted Suriya.

Nimir features Udayanidhi Stalin and Namitha Pramod in the lead, reprising the roles of Fahadh Faasil and Aparna Balamurali in the original. Actress Parvatii Nair has been cast in for the role played by Anusree in the Malayalam original while MS Bhaskar will be playing the role essayed by Alencier Ley Lopez. Samuthirakani appears in the villain's role, which was played to perfection in Mollywood by Sujith Sankar.

The director has reportedly made slight changes in the remake to suit the sensibilities of the Tamil audiences. Unlike its Malayalam original, there will be more prominence to humour in the Tamil version.
