Samantha yesterday found herself being trolled on Twitter after she replied in sharp terms to someone who passed a moral judgement about a pic of hers she had posted. Essentially, the actress said that a person has to be judged by his/her character, not by what he/she wears. She said that such narrow thinking is shameful.

This made some of Mahesh Babu's supporters and neutral observers to take a dig at a tweet she had made years ago.

The tweet pertained to how she found the poster of a Telugu film quite regressive. Although she didn't mention the film's name, it was clear that she was referring to the poster of '1: Nenokkadine', in which was seen the heroine literally crawling around Mahesh Babu's legs.

Pulling out a poster of 'Anjan' wherein the hero is seen romantically touching Samantha's feet, someone questioned if that is not regressive.

Ironically, all this happened on a day when Samantha dedicated on TV an award to those who pen strong women's characters.
