Earlier this year, a news made rounds that Mahesh Babu will be adopting his father's native village, Burripalem.But there has been no official announcement from the Superstar regarding this.

In a recent media interaction, the 'Srimanthudu' actor confirmed that he will be adopting the village soon.

"After completing two schedules of 'Srimanthudu', my brother in law, Jayadev Galla, suggested me to adopt Burripalem Village. But I refrained from doing it then, because people would feel it is a publicity stunt for the film. Currently I am discussing about the adoption with Jayadev and devising plans about how to develop the village. I will give a clarity in two months", Mahesh said.

Inspired by 'Srimanthudu', many are getting ready to adopt their native villages. The film is being praised by many industry and political personalities for it's strong message. The film has already broken many of the records of Mahesh's previous films and has become the second highest grosser in Tollywood, only next to 'Baahubali'.
