A success meet of 'Bharat Ane Nenu' was held in Hyderabad on Monday night. A bigger event will be held in Tirupathi on April 27.
Mahesh Babu took questions from the media on the occasion today. Here are some of his replies.
After 'Srimanthudu', you walked the talk by adopting two villages. Are you going to do something similar after 'BAN'?
I don't speak about what I do. 'BAN' is a kind of film I can be proud of and show to my children after they grow up.
Your voice in 'Oath of Bharat' is very much close to your father's. Are there any other places where you were like him?
My whole 'janma' (life) is him! After listening to it, Nanna garu called me up and said, 'Mana voice lage undhi'. (Smiles).
When is your next film with Koratala Siva garu happening?
That the Leader of the House should say! (It was over to the director, who said that he will definitely knock on Mahesh's doors the day he conceives a bigger story idea).
Hits and superhits are not new to you. How come 'BAN' has given you so much more happiness?
I have got everything that I need in life. I have got money, I am happy personally. But for two whole years, I was under pressure because I couldn't meet the expectations of the audience. My fans had a lot of hopes but I disappointed them.
The film released on April 20, which is your mother's birthday. You must be feeling blessed?!
I started feeling jittery a couple of days before the film's release. My hands were shivering while having water. I couldn't have called up Koratala Siva garu again and again as he had been working tirelessly for 15 days on post-production. This is when, the evening before the film's release, I went to my mother's home. She gave me coffee. While returning home, I realized that all the tension was gone.
How about your other family members?
My family members don't say my film is good just like that. They give genuine feedback. My brother (Ramesh Babu) told me he was reminded of Sivaji Ganesan and MGR, whose big fan he is.
Who was the first one to tell you 'BAN' will do great?
My wife.
Your second-time associations with directors didn't work positively. 'BAN' is the only exception. Isn't it?
Didn't Jagan give me a hit second time when I teamed up with him? But as you said, Siva garu is the only exception as 'BAN' is a super hit (unlike 'Businessman').
