Tollywood is on a roll. The large Telugu TV viewer base is at the foundation of this golden run of India's second largest, richest film industry. Only recently, a film being made by Telugu talent clocked an insuperable record by earning a whopping Rs. 51 cr for its satellite rights. It's the Hindi version of 'Baahubali-2'.
Latest, Film Nagar is abuzz with the details of how much 'Khaidi No. 150' and Mahesh Babu's next have fetched. The Chiranjeevi behemoth has reportedly earned Rs. 14 cr, so far the highest for a Telugu movie. The same have been reportedly sold out to MAA TV.
While this news is yet to sink in, a rumour about Mahesh Babu-AR Murugadoss' next getting sold for a higher amount than 'Khaidi No. 150' is doing the rounds. The rights have been sold out, allegedly, to Zee Telugu, the channel which bought the rights of 'Srimanthudu' and 'Brahmotsavam' for a bomb.
While a Chiru film earning this huge an amount may or may not have been expected, Rs. 16 cr is easily a quantum jump for Mahesh. 'Brahmotsavam' had earned Rs. 11. 50 cr. 'Sardaar Gabbar Singh' was sold out for Rs. 14 cr.
If this is any indication, Mahesh's next is going to do a phenomenal pre-release record.
