Mahesh Babu is going to bankroll small-budgeted movies in near future, a report says. The buzz is also that the actor is keen on producing web series features in association with a digital media company.

These reports come only weeks after the 'Maharshi' actor's AMB Cinemas, a multiplex at Hyderabad's Gacchibowli, was opened for patrons. The superstar has started it in partnership with Asian Cinemas' Sunil Narang.

If Mahesh is indeed going to turn into an active producer, especially of humble movies, it could open new vistas for new-age filmmakers. His wife, Namrata Shirodkar, is expected to play a stellar role in materializing Mahesh's vision.

Meanwhile, the actor has lauded Balakrishna's "transformation" into NT Rama Rao in the trailer for the up-and-coming 'NTR' biopic.
