It was on this day 50 years ago that Superstar Krishna and his brothers co-founded the famous Padmalaya Studios in Hyderabad. It has seen highs and lows, but has endured them all and stood the test of time. Celebrating the milestone, Mahesh Babu on Friday took to Twitter and congratulated the founders on the completion of a “glorious journey”.
“It all began today 50 years ago for #PadmalayaStudios!! A glorious journey. Respect and congratulations to its founding members and the entire team who have created some iconic entertaining films under this banner for our Telugu film audience,” the ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ and ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ actor tweeted.
Both a production and distribution company, PS has distributed both Telugu and Hindi films over the decades. KSR Das-directed ‘Mosagallaku Mosagadu’ was the maiden production venture of the Studios. G Adiseshagiri Rao and G Hanumantha Rao were part of its journey in the initial decades.
Indira Productions, G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment and Krishna Productions Pvt.Ltd are its offshoots. Under GMB Entertainment, Mahesh has successfully collaborated with big production houses like Mythri Movie Makers and AK Entertainments for ‘Srimanthudu’, ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’, etc.
