'Maharshi': Granted special shows, not hike, says Talasani

Telangana's Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav has condemned the claims made by theatre managements in Hyderabad that they have sought the permission of the government to hike ticket rates of 'Maharshi' for two weeks.
"No special permission has been granted to raise the ticket prices. The government is against the hike policy," the Minister has been quoted as saying.
However, an old court order allows the theatre managements to hike the rates if the stakes are huge. Both single screens and multiplexes have raised rates.
The T government has, however, given the permission to hold five shows per day from May 9.
