After the chaos that was happening in the formation of government in Maharashtra, finally BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra an Nationalist Congress party leader Ajit Pawar was sworn in as the deputy Chief Minister, striking a big blow to both Shiv Sena and Congress.
Earlier it was being said that there might be a coalition government with talks in progress between the three parties - Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress and it was being said by the NCP chief Sharad Pawar that there was a unanimous decision to elect Uddhav Thackeray as the chief minister.
After the swearing in ceremony, Devendra Fadnavis expressed his gratitude to NCP's Ajit Pawar for taking the decision to form a stable government in Maharashtra and join hands with BJP. Ajit Pawar said that the decision was taken by him as the discussions between Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena went on pointlessly without a concluding decision.
