The makers of 'Mahanati' have revealed the release date of the film on Savitri's jayanthi today. It's March 29.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, Keerthy Suresh is essaying the titular role in this biopic. In a short video released, the title is rendered with gusto, in total contrast to the kind of image associated with Savitri. That's the Nag Ashwin touch for you!

Dulquer Salman who plays Gemini Ganesan and Samantha who appears as a journalist are playing other important roles. Vijay Devarakonda is paired up with Samantha. Malavika Nair of 'Yevade Subrahmanyam' fame and Shalini Pandey of 'Arun Reddy' fame have been roped in. Prakash Raj as Chakrapani and Mohan Babu as SV Ranga Rao will also be seen.

Nag Ashwin is working with Dani Sanchez-Lopez, a cinematographer who has a rich experience of handling the camera for both English-language and Hindi-language movies.
