Much of what is happening behind the screens of 'Mahanati' has been kept under the wraps. Director Nag Ashwin, however, is silently working towards making it a true technical brilliance.
A cinematographer who has a rich experience of handling the camera for both English-language and Hindi-language movies has been enlisted as the period drama's cinematographer. It's Dani Sanchez-Lopez.
The technician has an image for creatively using the effect of lights. 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshi' is his most recent Bollywood product, besides 'Dil Dhadakne Do'. A multi-faceted talent, he has also been a director-writer.
16mm, 35mm and Alexa with V-Lite anamorphic and Master Prime lenses, as well as a progression of diffusion and different vintage lights, are some of the elements used to achieve different looks for the past.
"Every artiste who made it into the team is keeping their best efforts. Few other star artists are expected to join in coming schedules. We are extremely overjoyed with the production part finished till now,” producer Swapna Dutt has said.
'Mahanati' is his first Telugu-Tamil movie.
