'Mahanati', the biopic on the legendary actress Savitri, may well stand out for its magnificent artwork. Samantha has shared a pic of one of the sets of the film and it's a realistic throwback to the '80s. Shivam Rao of 'Ghazi' fame is the production designer and you can expect it to be the best.

Set to release on March 29, it has been directed by Nag Ashwin. Keerthy Suresh is essaying the titular role in this biopic.

Dulquer Salman who plays Gemini Ganesan and Samantha who appears as a journalist are playing other important roles. Vijay Devarakonda is paired up with Samantha. Malavika Nair of 'Yevade Subrahmanyam' fame and Shalini Pandey of 'Arun Reddy' fame have been roped in. Prakash Raj as Chakrapani and Mohan Babu as SV Ranga Rao will also be seen.

Nag Ashwin is working with Dani Sanchez-Lopez, a cinematographer who has a rich experience of handling the camera for both English-language and Hindi-language movies.
