Mahanandi temple flooded in Kurnool district

Incessant rains have submerged the famous Mahanandeeswara Temple in Mahanandi mandal of Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh. River Kundu, an upstream river, is overflowing with floodwater. Two ponds in the temple are overflowing due to continuous rains, resulting in the water reaching the sanctum sanctorum.
The Nandyal division of the district has seen non-stop rains over the past few days. The weather conditions are unpredictable and the plying of trains stood cancelled since morning.
