Mahaan is the most anticipated 60th film in Chiyaan's career. The trailer of the upcoming movie just dropped on Youtube, which has the phenomenal actor playing a dark shaded role. The 2-minute-long video looks like Kollywood's version of the world-famous series 'Breaking Bad' created by Vince Gilligan.
Chiyaan Vikram headlines the role of 'Gandhi Mahaan', a simpleton son of a liquor-ban activist and a school commerce teacher, breaking bad into the king of the state's liquor empire. Dhruv, the real-life son of Vikram, will be seen as 'Dada', the son who locks horns with his father Mahaan. As usual, we can see Karthik Subburaj's pop culture references to the renowned director Quentin Tarantino in the trailer.
Vikram seems to own the negative role with his effortless charisma. Santhosh Narayan's background score works but does not elevate it to an intense level. Mahaan also stars Vani Bhojan, Bobby Simha, Simran, Sananth, Muthukumar, Sharath Ravi and Deepak Paramesh in important roles.
Mahaan, produced by Lalit Kumar under the banner Seven Screen Studios, will commence streaming on the digital platform Amazon Prime Video from February 10th onwards. Shreyaas Krishna cranked the camera in Mahaan and Vivek Harshan took care of the editing.
