Maha stalemate: Shiv Sena finds it tough to scare BJP

A day after Congress President Sonia Gandhi said that her party won't be supporting the Shiv Sena in the Maharashtra Assembly, SS leader Kishore Tiwari today sounded positive about something concrete happening on the front of the formation of a government in Maharashtra if only Nitin Gadkari were to be involved. "I have written a letter to the RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat to initiate and send Nitin Gadkari for negotiations. He alone will be able to resolve the situation within two hours," Tiwari said.

As things stand, the Congress is not willing to ally with SS. However, NCP is ready to enter into an alliance if SS leaves the NDA government at the Centre. If that happens, NCP would support a Sena Chief Minister for the entire 5-year tenure.

Between NCP and SS, they hold not more than 105 seats. BJP has got 103 seats. It will be impossible for SS to come to power without Congress.
