The Supreme Court today said that the floor test to prove the majority has to happen on the floor of Maharashtra Assembly by 5 pm, on Wednesday (November 27). "The proceedings shall be completed before 5 pm and there will be no secret ballot. The senior-most MLA of the House shall be nominated as the Protem speaker," the apex court today said.
With this, the nail-biting drama is expected to come to an end tomorrow. Speaking to a news agency, Nawab Malik of the NCP said, "Today's verdict is a milestone in the history of Indian democracy. It will be clear that BJP's game is over by tomorrow. In a few days, there will a government of Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress in the State."
Prithviraj Chavan, the senior Congress leader, said, Tomorrow, at 11 am, members to take an oath and at 5 pm, the Pro-tem Speaker to hold Floor Test in Maharashtra Assembly. All three parties (Congress, NCP, Shiv Sena) are satisfied with the SC order. Devendra Fadnavis should resign today."
