Maha Andamga Vunnavani Bhayam
Maha is dubbed/remake of cameraman Vijay Milton's Tamil film Azhagai Irukkirai Bayamai Irukkirathu (AIBI).
Vijay Milton is a cameraman who is making his debut as director through Maha. The Telugu version is not a mere dubbed version. Some aspects have been reshot and there have been some changes made. Locla talent Sukumar, who is an expert in candyfloss romance, has helped in the remake.
The film stars Bharath and Mumbai girl Mallika Kapoor in the leads.
'The movie is an attempt to record the elements of cinema found in our daily life,' says the director.
Music-director Yuvan Shankar Raja has given the movie a face-lift by rendering excellent songs. He is the lifeline of this musical film, he adds.
The movie is about romance between two couples, Bharath, Mallika Kapoor and Arun Kumar, Deepu.
`Maha is a light-hearted film, sure to attract youths to theatres', he adds.
The movie is about two boys and two girls. The plot revolves around Bharath and Mallika Kapoor's comical efforts to unhinge the pair of Arun Kumar and Deeu. This is because Mallika thinks she is in love with Arun while Bharath assumes he is after Deepu. But there is a twist in the tale. Bharath and Mallika bring the house down with their antics. Arun Kumar plays a soft, rich man.
The accent is on comedy, fun and romance. There are many cartoonish interludes that add to the mirth of the movie.
Milton has the huge responsibility of handling the story, screenplay, dialogues and direction besides cinematography. Bollywood's noted choreographer the big-made Ganesh Acharya tests his wares against Bharath in a dance number.
On acting in the film, Bharath, 'Not everyday you aspire to get such roles. Once I fell in love with that character, it was a question of application.'
