If one thing that greatly undermines the efforts put on making a films leading to losses, it is online piracy. Nowadays, many films are released in online platforms legally after a few days of the release. However, pirate sites are able to somehow let out the film on its release date.
As a way to combat this, for the first Shanmuga Pandian’s ‘Madura Veeran’ will be released on an online platform in tandem with its theatrical release. However, it should be noted that the online versionof the film will be available only in North America. ‘Madura Veeran’ directed by P.G.Muthiah is all set to hit the big (and small) screens on February 2.
Even though some producers have given the green signal to this procedure, the idea has also been receiving flak from several theatre owners.
The general notion is that this ploy will tackle the issue of online piracy and also encourage people to buy the film on a pay per view basis on the release date itself. Word is that in the near future films releasing online and in theatres will become conventional.
