Archana Kalpathi of AGS Entertainment, the producer of Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming film 'GOAT', set for a grand release tomorrow, has found herself embroiled in legal proceedings related to Vijay's previous blockbuster 'Bigil'. On Tuesday, the Madras High Court issued notices to Archana Kalpathi and director Atlee in connection with a case regarding the alleged theft of the 'Bigil' script.
Scriptwriter Amjath Meeran filed a petition with the High Court, seeking to condone a delay of 73 days in filing three appeals against the dismissal of his applications by a single judge. Meeran had originally filed a civil suit in 2019, coinciding with the release of 'Bigil', alleging that the script was stolen. The court dismissed all his applications after he failed to pay costs of ₹1 lakh each to Atlee and Archana Kalpathi as ordered.
In response, Meeran filed the current appeals along with petitions to condone the delay in submitting them. The Madras High Court has now directed Atlee, Archana Kalpathi, and AGS Entertainment to respond to the allegations. The timing of this legal development, coinciding with the much-anticipated release of 'GOAT', has caused a stir among the fans.
